The Magic Blend: Creating a Culture of Community & Challenge
Dr. Deak, author of the books Girls Will Be Girls: Raising Confident and Courageous Daughters ,How Girls Thrive, and the upcoming book The Brain Matters: A Middle of the Road Guide for Parenting and Teaching returns to Tarrant County to provide a critical workshop on creating a culture of community and challenge for adolescents. According to Dr. Deak, if you review the research looking for correlates with student satisfaction and success, the top factors reported include a small setting that has a sense of community, and a culture of challenge to get students to reach their full potential. This workshop looks at how to accomplish these deceptively complicated, but crucial, two tasks. This training is a must for anyone who works with adolescents, schools, faith-based youth programs, youth service agencies, juvenile probation, child welfare, PTA's, neighborhood associations and daycare providers.
