Each year, Tarrant County Challenge publishes the Tarrant County Drug Impact Index Substance Abuse Information Databank (SAID).  This publication serves to provide statistical information to residents, elected officials, law enforcement, health and human services agencies, and community leaders on the pervasiveness of the community's substance abuse problem. Substance abuse encompasses the misuse of alcohol, tobacco, as well as legal and illegal drugs. This index relies on archival data collected and compiled from multiple sources such as the Department of Public Safety, Public Policy Research Institute of Texas A&M University , and Tarrant County Public Health.
